Even though there are many more important issues to talk about in regards President Barack Obama’s 8-year span in the White House, people continue to bring up the fact that he is an alleged occasional smoker.
Regardless of his political policies, his on-the-record health, and his wife Michelle ensuring the press that he leads an otherwise healthy lifestyle, people cannot seem to let this much-questioned vice go.
The latest resurfacing stems from an image posted to Instagram. The photo, snapped by a spokesman for Matteo Renzi, the Italian Prime Minister, shows President Obama on an outdoor balcony at the G-7 Summit holding what is thought to be a pack of cigarettes.
The official White House stance on the issue is that the President has cured himself of his nicotine addiction, although he apparently continues to use Nicorette gum to curb his cravings.
Perhaps, if President Obama is struggling with his cigarette addiction as much as the press suggests, he might consider trying an e-cigarette. At least, that way he would avoid the tar and chemicals that come with lighting up a tobacco cigarette.
Michelle and the kids, not to mention his public relations team, would probably great appreciate it.
