Time Magazine Piece Claims E-Cigs Lead to Cocaine Addiction

December 8, 2014 By Site Admin

A recent Time Magazine piece presents a very slanted view of e-cigarettes in my opinion.

A headline proclaims:

e-cigarettes-are-gateway

The story goes on to cite a recent report from the New England Journal of Medicine which claims:

e-cigarettes-serve

Experimenting with mice, Drs. Eric and Denise Kandel found:

nicotine-dramatically

The husband-wife team explains that it’s time to consider nicotine’s effects on the brain and not just the lungs. Regarding e-cigarettes, Denise Kandel thinks they will virtually destroy all of the progress made to curb smoking in the U.S.

The Time piece did a great job of presenting the views of e-cig detractors and cited plenty of things that cast the devices in a negative light. Although there is much to learn about e-cigs, nicotine and many other things, this story seemed to be written to lead you to the conclusion that vaping is horrible and should be shunned and outlawed.
